Help…I’m Looking for examples – #lazyweb

I’m doing a social media roadshow (with a couple of colleagues) for our Heads of Service and wanted to include an example or two from across the sector related to the service area concerned on top of promoting our social media guidance.

I’m particularly looking for examples in the following areas and would welcome any suggestions or signposting

  • HR
  • Finance
  • Planning
  • Child and Adult Protection
  • Waste Mgt
  • Social Care
  • Commissioning
  • Children’s Services

If i can’t find specific examples which I can show if people have ideas or tentative links to things which could inspire than I’d also be grateful for those…

Your help in trying something a little different

I am in the process of putting together a supporting statement for a Digital Communications Post here in Devon.  The scope of the role takes in all digital communications activity, corporate web management, intranet management and also includes aspects of Digital Engagement as well as Open and Linked Data but these two are more on an advisory nature.

What I’d like to do is try something a little different with regard to a supporting statement.  I obviously have to link my skills and experience with the persona specification but also wanted to share some views from people who have inspired me and helped me along the way.

I really wouldn’t be in the position to apply for this post if it wasn’t for the many great conversations, friendships and challenges I have made via social media platforms.

I tweeted a the same thing just a moment ago!/carlhaggerty/status/90386702484516865

I’m really after the easily digestible 140 character twitter replies as this means I could include more in the statement. I’d love your help on this and really need the replies before Friday 15th say lunchtime as this gives me time to include the replies in my statement.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can lend their support.

How do you develop technology team

A colleague has asked an interesting question and I’d like some help answering.

The question:

I am working with one of our development teams on their needs/development plans and I wanted to bring external best practices in this area.Do you have any examples (or theory /articles) on how to develop effectively developers / technology teams?

Any ideas, or examples of organisations who are using new and innovative approaches to this task

Help – in search of good practice

My Chief Executive is looking to improve his internal communications and currently has a blog (which he does write himself). However i am keen to know what other Chief Executives are doing and what kind of resource implication it has.

I am working with colleagues internally to see if we can enable him to create content on the move (upgraded blackberry or dare i say an iphone), connected with media sharing website which we can embed internally.  We are also looking at speech recognition software to speed up the content creation process.

However if your chief executive or you a know a chief executive who is doing some really innovative stuff for internal communications, please post a reply and let me know what they are doing.

I look forward to your help – Thank You in advance
